NRAR’s policies and guidelines

Social media community guidelines

The purpose of the Natural Resources Access Regulators (NRAR)’s social media accounts is to engage with the water community and provide updates on our work.

We manage our accounts and are online Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (Sydney time).

Social enquiries

We will do our best to respond to your social enquiries within 1-3 business days.

While we’re here to help you find the information you need, we’re unable to provide information or advice tailored to your situation via social media.

If you’d like to speak to someone one-on-one, you can contact NRAR over the phone on 1800 633 362, from Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (Sydney time).

You can also get in touch by emailing us at nrar.enquiries@nrar.nsw.gov.au.

Community guidelines

These guidelines apply to those visiting and interacting with NRAR’s social media accounts.

NRAR has accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.

We encourage all our followers to participate in meaningful and valuable conversations on our page and ask that your comments stay on topic and are respectful to others and their opinions. We welcome all questions and commentary, including constructive feedback. We reserve the right to remove any posts that don’t adhere to our guidelines and to block anyone who violates them.

We may hide or delete any comments that moderators consider to be:

  • Abusive, offensive or unlawful: harassment, bullying or provoking other community members, swearing, derogatory language and expression of views that are racist, sexist, homophobic, predatory or sexually explicit are not acceptable.
  • Potentially defamatory or that violate privacy laws.
  • Political in nature: this is a forum to discuss water regulation, not political parties and personalities. As a public service agency, we're apolitical and unable to respond to political commentary.
  • Misleading information or misinformation: information that is false, unfounded or misleading, whether intentional or not, will be removed.
  • An infringement of intellectual property rights: respect and acknowledge original creators when sharing content.
  • Promotional: we do not accept advertisements, requests to endorse commercial products or services or soliciting donations.
  • Spam or harmful: copied and pasted, duplicated or off-topic posts will be removed. We do not tolerate posts containing links to harmful or suspicious websites or applications.
  • Personal details: as this is a public page, we will remove any posts that contain private information or personal details, such as email addresses or phone numbers. If we ask for any contact details, please provide this by direct message.
  • A violation of the platform's terms and conditions.

If you breach these guidelines, we may remove your posts and/or block your account.

Content posted by other followers does not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of NRAR.
