Floodplain harvesting compliance

Explore compliance levels for floodplain harvesting dams across NSW valleys.

This dashboard provides an overview of compliance rates for floodplain harvesting (FPH) licences and dams across four NSW valleys.

Compliance is measured per storage. A FPH storage is compliant when:

  • it has a storage meter installed and validated, or
  • all Point of Intake meters are installed and validated, or
  • the water user has formally declared it inactive for FPH

NRAR ran an education program to drive voluntary compliance with the FPH measurement rules, from August 2023 to December 2025. The program monitored 475 FPH dams.

The data shows progress toward compliance but highlights that improvement is still needed
